Destination

Sossusvlei

DAY 1 - 4

Located in the scenic Namib-Naukluft National Park, Sossusvlei is where you will find the iconic red sand dunes of the Namib. The clear blue skies contrast with the giant red dunes to make this one of the most scenic natural wonders of Africa and a photographer’s heaven. This awe-inspiring destination is possibly Namibia’s premier attraction, with its unique dunes rising to almost 400 metres – making them some of the highest in the world. These iconic dunes come alive in morning and evening light and draw photography enthusiasts from around the globe.

Sossusvlei is home to a variety of desert wildlife including oryx, springbok, ostrich and a variety of reptiles. Visitors can climb ‘Big Daddy’, one of Sossusvlei’s tallest dunes; explore Deadvlei, a white, salt, claypan dotted with ancient trees; or for the more extravagant, scenic flights and hot air ballooning are on offer, followed by a once-in-a-lifetime champagne breakfast amidst these majestic dunes.

Transfer to Wilderness Little Kulala

Upon arrival at Windhoek’s Hosea Kutako International Airport, you’ll clear customs and immigration and be greeted by a representative from Anne Luxury Travel. They will provide a briefing on your upcoming safari and assist with your check-in for the flight to Geluk Airstrip.

At Geluk Airstrip, you’ll meet your pilot and board a light aircraft bound for Sossusvlei. Upon landing, a representative from Little Kulala will transfer you to the lodge, where you can relax and freshen up. The afternoon offers options such as a shared sundowner drive or quad biking excursion guided by Little Kulala.

Make sure to schedule your flight to Windhoek to allow time for the Wilderness Air scheduled seat-in-plane transfer. Little Kulala accommodates guests in luxurious, air-conditioned thatched units with en-suite bathrooms, outdoor showers, verandas, private plunge pools, and rooftop sky beds. The lodge’s decor and ambiance reflect the desert’s soothing tones, with organic materials and natural dyes. Facilities include a lounge, library, dining room, outdoor dining deck, bar, wine cellar, and curio shop under thatch. Activities include exclusive excursions to Sossusvlei through a private gate, nature drives, walks showcasing desert wildlife and plants, and scenic sundowner drives on the 37,000-hectare private Kulala Wilderness Reserve.
