DAY 1 - 3
Spanning an area of 172,200 hectares and encompassing four distinct ecosystems, the NamibRand Reserve of southern Namibia is among the largest privately owned game parks in Southern Africa. Founded to conserve the unique environment and wildlife species of the Namib Desert, the park’s mix of dunes, mountains, rocky outcrops, sandy flats, and gravel plains provides habitats for a diversity of mammals, including hyenas, jackals, foxes, antelopes, and various wild cats.
A plethora of bird species, reptiles, insects, and frogs also have their home here, alongside an array of plant species. Discover the mysterious ‘fairy circles’, unexplained bare patches in the sand, or enjoy a night of sublime stargazing – having been named Africa’s first International Dark Sky Reserve, it is one of the least light-polluted areas in the world.

Upon arrival at Windhoek’s Hosea Kutako Airport, you’ll meet a representative from Anne Luxury Travel who will guide you through customs and brief you on your upcoming safari. They’ll assist with your flight check-in to Sossusvlei Desert Lodge Airstrip. After landing, a lodge representative will transfer you to Sossusvlei Desert Lodge, located in the northern foothills of NamibRand Nature Reserve. The lodge offers luxurious accommodations with spacious, air-conditioned suites featuring amenities like shaded decks, split-level bedrooms, and outdoor showers. Activities include 4×4 nature drives, walks, and quad-biking in the diverse landscapes of NamibRand.

Day 2
Day 2 begins with an early morning photographic expedition into Namib Naukluft National Park, capturing the sunrise over its iconic sand dunes, some of the world’s tallest. Guided by lodge staff, you’ll explore the dune fields, learning about the Namib Desert’s formation and its resilient plant and animal life. A picnic lunch under a camel thorn tree is provided by Sossusvlei Desert Lodge. Afterward, you may visit Sesriem Canyon, a 1.5 km gorge carved by the Tsauchab River, offering cool pools that sustain life in this arid environment. The afternoon offers leisure time or optional lodge activities.
