DAY 1 - 4
Sharing the southern boundary with Etosha National Park, the prolific 30 000-hectare private Ongava Game Reserve is considered one of the top private game reserves in the region, enjoying global recognition for exceptional conservation, groundbreaking research and exciting safari experiences. The landscape is characterised by vast open plains dotted with salt plans and abundant wildlife. Visitors can easily access Etosha through Andersson’s Gate in the south.
Known for its luxury lodges made out of natural materials, Ogava is a popular destination for those looking to immerse themselves in nature. The reserve offers visitors the perfect combination of wildlife safari experiences within and around the Etosha National Park. One of Ongava’s top attractions is its rhino population and guests can experience the thrill of getting close to these majestic creatures. Day 1
Transfer to Ongava Lodge
After arriving at Windhoek’s International Hosea Kutako Airport and clearing customs, a representative from Anne Luxury Travel will assist you with your check-in for the flight to Ongava Airstrip. Upon landing, a representative from Ongava Lodge will transfer you to the lodge. Spend the afternoon relaxing and watching wildlife at the waterhole before a sundowner drive on the Ongava Game Reserve.
The private 30,000-hectare Ongava Game Reserve, adjacent to Etosha National Park, features diverse wildlife including lions, leopards, and rhinos. Ongava Lodge, located on a rocky outcrop, offers luxurious chalets with en-suite bathrooms and private verandas. The main area overlooks a floodlit waterhole and offers night drives and nature walks on request.

Day 2 & 3
Game Drives at Ongava Lodge

On Days 2 & 3, you’ll start with a morning guided game drive into the southwestern side of Etosha National Park, returning to Ongava Lodge for a late lunch and relaxation by the pool or viewing game at the floodlit waterhole. In the afternoon, enjoy another game drive on the private Ongava Reserve before a delectable dinner at the lodge restaurant.
Etosha National Park covers 22,270 km², including the 5,000 km² Etosha Pan, a large saline depression. The park features grassland, woodland, and savannah, with numerous springs and waterholes attracting diverse wildlife. It is home to 114 mammal species and over 340 bird species, including elephants, lions, giraffes, rhinos, cheetahs, and the endemic black-faced impala.
